Lionel Messi expressed optimism, despite recent losses, and said Barcelona recognizes its problems.
Despite Barcelona's recent struggles, Lionel Messi expressed optimism during a press conference this week.
"We are sad about the latest losses but we are going to recover," Messi said Wednesday. "We have to give a little more. We know well what the problems were with these losses, but they will stay in the lockerroom."
Barcelona lost to Milan in a Champions League match and to Real Madrid in a Copa del Rey semifinal and in La Liga. Meanwhile, Real Madrid has advanced to the Copa del Rey finals and eliminated Manchester United in the Champions League.
"Hopefully we can recover against Milan," Messi said. "Like they won at home we can win here in Barcelona."
Messi on Cristiano Ronaldo: "Cristiano and I don't play to see who is better. The comparisons are for the press. I saw Real Madrid (Tuesday). It showed how strong it is. Whichever of us passes through will be a candidate to win the Champions."
Barcelona meets Deportivo La Coruña Saturday.
