Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has expressed his delight in welcoming new signing David Beckham , who he believes has much to offer. However, in a word of warning, Ancelotti has declared that Beckham will have to earn his place in his starting 11.
"Beckham is a player with a lot of experience who can help everyone. He can help the team improve, get more experience and show a better quality of play", he said. "He went on holiday but he has already started training. First of all, he needs to be in good shape physically and then we will see what happens. But if he deserves to play, he will play."
Ancelotti knows Beckham well after having managed him at AC Milan , and described him as a multifaceted player that "can play as a defensive midfielder, and can also play on the right side." Ancelotti went on to describe the happiness of the new acquisition by praising Beckham's professionalism and saying that "for a trainer, having not one player like Beckham but 20 like him makes the job easier."
After being without a club since December, Beckham signed a five-month contract with the French capital side and will donate his entire wages to an unknown local children's charity.
