Zaragoza lost 4-0 to an intensely offensive Sevilla and was eliminated from Copa del Rey

In spite of a balanced 0-0 result in the first leg, Sevilla beat Zaragoza 4-0 at home giving them the first ticket to the Copa del Rey Semifinals and Unai Emery his first win with the team.

Zaragoza never had much of a chance. In their game at home, their extremely defensive attitude impeded an advantage, but as Sevilla suggested a similar standing, they didn't receive any goals either.

Apparently the plan was for Zaragoza to score an away goal in Sevilla to force the local team to score double or to be able to advance with simply a tie. But this came tumbling down when Sevilla came out decided to score early on. Sevilla's offensive was met with a very defensive Zaragoza that always seemed uncomfortable and unprepared to handle the pressure of the home team. This until the rhythm of the game got the best of them and Jose Fernandez was sent off in minute 24' after a strong foul, leaving the visiting side with ten players for the remainder of the match.

It was all downhill from there for the men managed by Manolo Jimenez. Alvaro Negredo (35') opened the count for the locals and Rakitic closed off the first half with the 2-0 lead for Sevilla. In the second half, a penalty kick in the 67th minute gave Negredo the second goal for his personal count and in the 90th minute, Manu rounded the score off, ending in the 4-0 win that gives Sevilla the ticket to the Semifinals.
