Nikolay Davydenko confirmed he is recovering his form as he took a 6-2, 6-3 victory over top-seeded David Ferrer in the semifinals of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha Friday.

The unseeded Davydenko will meet No. 2 seed Richard Gasquet in the final Saturday, to be shown live on beIN SPORT.

Davydenko, who won the Qatar event in 2010 and was runnerup to Roger Federer in 2011, set the tone early against Ferrer. Davydenko broke Ferrer's serve, then held serve for a 3-1 opening set advantage.

Davydenko capitalized on the momentum, staying in control thanks to strong serves and forehands.

Gasquet defeated Daniel Brands 7-5, 7-5.
